The Diocese of Mpumalanga formerly part of the Diocese of Pretoria, was inaugurated on the 6th June 2004.

The inaugural Bishop was the Rt. Revd. Lesley Walker who died in 2010. Mpumulanga appointed a new bishop on 20th. April 2010 and he was consecrated on 24th July 2010. He is Revd. Daniel Kgomosotho.
